TRURO BYPASS

$202m OVER 3 YEARS

Construct a bypass of the Truro township and upgrade to Accommodation Hill on the Sturt Highway. The highway is the major road freight corridor connecting South Australia and New South Wales.

AUGUSTA HIGHWAY DUPLICATION - STAGE 2 (NANTAWARRA TO LOCHIEL)

$180m OVER 4 YEARS

Duplication of the Augusta Highway from near Nantawarra to Lochiel, which will result in the corridor being fully duplicated from Adelaide to Lochiel.

ROAD SAFETY PACKAGE - EXTENSION

$105m IN 2022-23

Improve road safety across South Australia. Safety measures will include shoulder sealing, audio tactile line marking, physical barriers to prevent run-off road crashes and median treatments to prevent head on vehicle collisions. This brings total funding to $315 million over 3 years.

STRZELECKI TRACK - ADDITIONAL FUNDING

$80m OVER 2 YEARS

Additional $80m for the Strzelecki Track upgrade. This brings total funding for the project to $215m with works over 5 years.

HEYSEN TUNNEL REFIT AND UPGRADE

$60m OVER 2 YEARS

Upgrading the monitoring, sensing and control technology for traffic management, lighting, safety treatments, and installation of a new fire suppression system, bringing the total funding to $75 million.

MARION ROAD AND SIR DONALD BRADMAN DRIVE INTERSECTION UPGRADE

$45m OVER 3 YEARS

Upgrade the Marion Road and Sir Donald Bradman Drive intersection. These works will alleviate capacity constraints and improve access to Adelaide Airport.

PORT WAKEFIELD OVERPASS

$34.5m OVER 3 YEARS

Additional resources for overpass construction and to extend the dual carriageway. Total project cost $124.5m.

KANGAROO ISLAND ROAD UPGRADES

$40m OVER 3 YEARS

Improvements to key Kangaroo Island road corridors. Roads to be upgraded include the Playford Highway (west of Kingscote) and Hogs Bay Road.

APY LANDS ROAD UPGRADE - ADDITIONAL FUNDING

$15m IN 2022-23

Additional funding towards the APY Lands Main Access Road Upgrade, bringing total funding for the project to $156.8 million.

NOTTAGE TERRACE AND NORTH EAST ROAD INTERSECTION UPGRADE

$6m OVER 2 YEARS

Upgrade the Nottage Terrace and North East Road intersection, alleviating traffic flows along Nottage Terrace.


OLD MURRAY BRIDGE REFURBISHMENT

$36m OVER 2 YEARS

The bridge links east and west Murray Bridge within the township. Fully state funded works will include rectification of piers, drainage and lighting improvements.


NORTH-SOUTH CORRIDOR

Revised preliminary estimate reflects an updated road layout which includes wider tunnels to allow for 3 lanes, informed by updated traffic modelling projecting increased traffic volumes. Estimates will be finalised on completion of the business case.

The tunnels will connect the north and the south of our state with a 78km non-stop motorway, minimise community impact, improve east-west connectivity, increase overall network capacity to reduce congestion, and deliver greater safety benefits and has been estimated to create up to 4000 jobs and slash travel time by 24 minutes.


PUBLIC TRANSPORT

GAWLER LINE ELECTRIFICATION - ADDITIONAL FUNDING

$715m TOTAL COST

Additional $100m over 3 years to complete works on the Gawler Line Electrification project. The total cost includes the acquisition of 12 additional three-car electric trains.

RAILWAY STATION REFRESH PROGRAM

$99m OVER 10 YEARS

$54m over 4 years to refresh railway stations in the metropolitan rail network. Works will include new shelters, seating and bins, lighting upgrades and other minor works such as painting and landscaping.

Stations to be upgraded between 2021-22 and 2024-25 include:

  • 14 stations along the Gawler Rail Line
  • Adelaide Railway Station
  • Goodwood Railway Station
  • Ovingham Railway Station
  • Woodlands Park Railway Station
  • Ethelton Railway Station, including platform repairs

There is a $7.5 million per annum commitment until 2030-31.

TEA TREE PLAZA PARK N RIDE

$48.5m OVER 2 YEARS

New multi-storey car park at Tea Tree Plaza for Park n Ride services providing 400 more car parks to support public transport growth in the north-eastern suburbs.

GREEN PUBLIC TRANSPORT - RETROFIT HYBRID ENERGY SYSTEMS TO DIESEL TRAINS

$10m OVER 2 YEARS

Retrofit energy storage and recovery systems to diesel rail cars to reduce fuel consumption and improve performance. The hybrid conversions will reduce noise and vibrations, and reduce diesel fumes in the environment.

DRIVER TRAINING REFORM

$5.9m OVER 4 YEARS

Implement driver training reforms for the light and heavy vehicles industries, and ongoing expenditure to administer the new reforms. The driver training reforms include the implementation of an online register, mandatory driver training and assessment, vehicle requirements, higher eligibility and entry requirements and mandatory cameras in vehicles.
