ADVANCED SOFT PLASTICS RECYCLING TECHNOLOGY PROJECT

$20 million over two years for Recycling Plastics Australia to expand its operations and upgrade its facility, enabling significantly higher recycling and recovery rates of hard-to-recycle plastics and supporting long-term job creation in South Australia’s resource recovery sector. Funded by the Commonwealth Government.

WETLAND HABITAT PROJECT

$17 million over three years to deliver a range of on-ground works to improve wetland habitat across the Coorong, Lower Lakes and Murray Mouth. Funded by the Commonwealth Government.

WILDLIFE CARER SECTOR REFORMS

$7.6 million over four years to improve engagement with, and support, the volunteer wildlife rehabilitation sector, provide grants for veterinary support for injured wildlife and improve the health of South Australia’s biodiversity.

NILPENA STATION ACQUISITION

$4 million in 2024-25 for the acquisition of the remainder of the Nilpena Station pastoral lease, adding 26 000 hectares to the Nilpena Ediacara National Park and improving the biosecurity and protections of local habitats and ecological communities.

SOUTH EASTERN WATER CONSERVATION AND DRAINAGE BOARD – CRITICAL SAFETY INTERVENTIONS

$2.4 million over four years to provide immediate guard railing repair works and investigate cost recovery options to address repairs and maintenance needs for infrastructure within the drainage network in the state’s south-east.
